FAQ

Question

What is your update schedule?

Answer

The weekly scetchule goes like so:

Monday: One or more pages of stories like Birds of Prey, Vervain's new life or Story of Blade Swift / Few redrawn comic-pages, IF AVAIABLE! These are not always quaranteed, thus why they don't show up in the calendar.

Wednesday: One page of 3 selected comics. Either the Sketch Trio (RoMW, JotH and IilwW) or three of the Colored Quartet (Swarga, BCC, F&D or BwC). Comics change depending on what I have been able to work on.

Friday: One or more pieces of random art. These days fluxuate from once every two weeks to once a week depending on how much material I have finished.

The remaining days are used for updating or changing the site itself.

Question

How do you make your comics?

Answer

This slightly changes by the comic, but here is the process I have seen to be the best:

- I write the script for, either one chapter or whole comic, depending of the lenght.

- I design the characters. Some characters can go trough multiple different beta-designs before they appear in the comic.

- I draw "thumbnails" of the comic-pages. This helps to see how big the panels need to be, where the text fits with the characters etc. Very much recomended!

- I sketch the pages with led. Depending on the comic I either ink with a ballpoint-pen or black writing-marker. Once again, depending on the comic, I then color the pages. I then skan them, and if needed, edit them with Windows Paint, Pixlr or Ibis Paint X.

Question

Where do you get ideas for comics?

Answer

It would be easier to say what DOESN'T give me ideas for comics. Usually I see a movie, series, read a book or comic that inspires me to create something similar, but with my own twist. Sometimes I just randomly draw something, and make up a story in my mind. For example: I drew a random dog running over the hills for his life. I started to think, why was he running? What would make him stop running? What would happen after that? That dog later became Freckles and the comic is now Freckles and Diamonds. The idea for Swarga came from the fact that there aren't that many Dragon-comics in the world, that are actually ABOUT dragons. Dragons appear in many fantasy-comics, but as background-characters or villains. I wanted a story where the Dragon-culture is at the foreground, and the main cast are dragons! Journey of the Heart is based on an old RP-character of mine; Waku. After I quit roleplaying, I started to re-think her character and story, and thus the comic was born. I have plenty of other stories and ideas I want to use later on, but I need to keep myself at bay, since I already have 7 active comics. XD
